“Marie Gabrielle is a Very Talented Young Lady…Look out for her”….B.B. King

Over the course of her multifaceted career she's been called “A one stop entertainment shop” and was voted “One of the Top New DIY Artists” by Performing Songwriter. She has been honored to work with some of the music industry’s most prestigious producers, session players and recording artists in the business. 

Born and raised in New York City on the Lower East side of Manhattan and the Bronx, Marie studied classical guitar throughout high school and grew up exposed to various genres of music from Classical, R&B and Classic rock to latin jazz, folk and blues.  As a child her mother put old Motown 45’s in her Christmas stocking and some of her earliest influences ranged anywhere from Paco DeLucia and Segovia to B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

She studied Music and Theater at Hunter College and The Neighborhood Playhouse and established herself in various club scenes in NYC and throughout the U.S. playing slide guitar and singing her original compositions.

While working part-time singing and recording in several prestigious NYC recording studios, she met her long time Mentor/Guitar Player/Producer the late great Mr. Hugh McCracken and began her professional music career.  

Marie has played guitar, sang and performed throughout the World for live shows, recording projects, International music festivals and on film & television. She has shared the bill as a solo act with many great artists including the late great B.B. King, H.E.R. Wyclef Jean, Taj Mahal, The late Dr John, Lucinda Williams and Several Broadway and Television artist’s. 

Marie’s original compositions and arrangements  have appeared in several live theater performances including two hit Off-Broadway shows, "Phenomena" and most recently “A Magicienne Among The Spirits” starring celebrity magician Belinda Sinclair. She is an Internationally published music writer, the recipient of several corporate and national grants for her continued support of Blues, Roots and Independent Music and is a BMI songwriter, ASCAP publisher, SAG-AFTRA convention delegate and the founder of  “The Fret No More Foundation” a nonprofit organization that supports young women and music education  through playing the guitar.  

Marie has produced, written and released her Internationally acclaimed CD in Australia titled "Restless Angel" on her Indie label “RightFoot Records” with engineer/producer (and son of Tony) Dae Bennett and guitar player/producer Hugh McCracken. She consults for film and television…has toured and performed in music festivals and venues throughout Mexico, Europe and Australia and is currently in pre-production for her new CD and documentary on “The History of Women and Guitars”
